MANUFACTURED HOME PARKS

Established as a state program in 1951, local health departments are required to annually license and inspect these parks.  Over the past five plus decades, the units in these parks have progressed from small transient, mobile units to large single- and double-wide non-mobile housing units.  Also over this time, given the original transient to non-mobile evolution of the park units, park names have also evolved from travel trailer parks, trailer parks, mobile home parks, to most recently, manufactured home parks.

Using state regulations, inspections involve checking parks for compliance with spacing; maintenance of roads, lots, sidewalks, park buildings; tiedowns on units; electrical safety; and proper sewage and refuse disposal.

All of our inspection records are public records and are available to the public during our regular business hours.  Although walk-in requests are welcomed, if possible, it is best to call first to see if an inspector for the manufactured home park program is available to help answer any questions that may arise during review of the records.
